regulations
The Patent Act (Rijksoctrooiwet) regulates everything relating to the acquisition, maintenance and nullification of patents in the Netherlands, together with the associated implementation decree.
The Patent Act also regulates the existence of the Netherlands Institute of Patent Attorneys. The functioning of the Institute is regulated by the Byelaws, amongst other things. The members of the Institute are subject to a code of conduct. If a complaint against a patent attorney has been submitted to the Supervisory Council, the associated ruling will be published. There are also a number of agreements between the Institute and public authorities relating to encouraging the patent system, Continuous Education and the traineeship as part of the training to be a patent attorney.
