Innovation vouchers

 

Innovation vouchers are a stimulus for SMEs to make use of the knowledge which is available from knowledge institutions and to help companies to innovate. Using the voucher businesses can acquire knowledge by submitting a research request to a knowledge institution.

Opportunities for patents
Since 2008 it has also been possible to use the innovation vouchers for patent costs incurred during the application and acquisition phase. This relates to the costs of drawing up a patent application, the production of drawings, translations, the submission fee, the fee for carrying out a novelty study and the amendment of the patent application. The costs must be incurred with a patent office and/or a patent attorney.

Costs which qualify for subsidy
Small vouchers worth 2,500 euro.
Large vouchers worth 7,500 euro.
The large vouchers are subject to an own contribution of at least one third.
The contribution from the State will not exceed 5,000 euro with a large voucher.
